Problem Mitel 3300 VOIP Communications system. Over many months sporadic instances of dropped calls or calls going silent during the call was causing frustration to the call participants and detriment to the business. Numerous investigations and continued solution attempts by the phone system supplier and SIP provider failed to identify and fix the dropped call and silence problems. Our Solution As the majority of call completed without problem and issues presented themselves occasionally, and at the most inappropriate times, this was not an easy problem to solve. Another approach was called for to try and solve the issues. Here’s how the solution enfolded. Researched the configuration, routing and network requirements of the Mitel Phone System and reconfigured the routing and parameters of the phone system and reconfigured routing on the company Firewall creating specific routes for the phone system to finally eliminate the constant problems with dropped calls and silences which plagued the system. The changes also enabled some of the functionality (Teleworker and Collaboration) to work that had previously not worked.
